about

Ghost notation is the living, unsounded emptiness that supports the playing and placement of notes and phrases. Put simply, it is what makes a groove a groove. Its absence would be unthinkable.
Instruments used (in order of amount, roughly): Zarb (Tombak), Heart of Jesus, Ravantar Fiddle, Dao-Daos, Rubber Bass, Mbiras Dzavadzimu and Nungunungu, Dumbek, Frame Drum, Analog Synthesizer, Monochord. Various Idiophones from the Vegetable and Mineral Kingdoms, Household Sounds and Field Recordings.
I am indebted to Steve Gorn (Bansuri), George Sempepos and Hank Tilbury (Guitars), Tim Sternberg (Field Recording) for their gracious and welcome contribution, Brigitte Riedman for use of the Monochord, and to Robert Levy for his photograph, to Michal Sykora for his mastering. And to the many whose support helped this to come about. Big thanks!
